Sun Dec 22 11:01:11 CET 2024 Gandalf (wearer of a 3 ring) Mithrandir (his name in elvish) Radagast (the brown) Saruman (the supposed white) Sauron (the evil) Frodo (the protagonist) Samwise (his loyal companion) Pippin (the only '6' in the fellowship) Merry (his companion) Boromir (of Gondor) Farimir (his brother) Aragorn (King of Gondor) Strider (his pre-royal name) Galadriel (wearer of a 3 ring) Gimli (a dwarf) Legolas (an Elf) Elrond (a half-elven king, wearer of a 3 ring) Arwen (a half-elven, daughter of Elrond) Interesting combination in length of names: 1. Fellowship of the Ring Frodo, Merry, Gimli length 5 (prime number, also 3 of them also a prime) Pippin length 6 (even number, and 1 is not a prime (debateable)) Gandalf, Legolas, Boromir, Samwise, Aragorn length 7 (prime number, also 5 of them also a prime) Update (Fri Dec 27 07:28:35 CET 2024): Last night I watched the "fellowship of the ring" in english. The funny thing that left me with this movie is that Gandalf cries "Fly you Fools!", and not "Flee you Fools!" which makes more sense in any take of the phrase! I think he meant "Frodo, Merry and Gimli" here as Fly is a 3 letter word, so this message is for the Fools (also a 5 letter word). Pippin who is a length 6 is the same number of letters of the "Balrog" who finished Gandalf off. A fool of a Took. Later as the story goes Pippin was also the one looking into the Palantir stone to reveal to "Sauron" that a Hobbit is aware of his plans. Both "Sauron" and "Hobbit" are also 6 letter words. Was it not Pippin who betrayed Frodo as a "Baggins" in the Prancing Pony as well? Just as they were to get aquainted to a man named Strider/Aragorn? In any sense Pippin is an interesting character in this entire story, 6 characters, just like the word Treson. So since the Merry, Gimli, Frodo (alphabetic line-up backwards) kinda sounds like "Marry Gimli, Frodo" or Marry GF. Isn't this all around a ring anyhow? That's the message anyhow you fools? How about some Marriage-juana now? I could use some! Another take could be the phrases Germany marry France, consisting of the first letters of Gimli, Merry and Frodo. Where then marriage is a union so it is substitutable by a U. What results is a GUF, or a goof! Another foolish word! Stay away from Eurocorps, and Germano-Franco unions! 2. Wizards of Middle Earth Sauron, Elrond length 6 (even) Saruman length 7 (prime) Radagast length 8 (even) Galadriel length 9 (odd, not prime) Mithrandir length 10 (even) 3. Interesting things around the names of the Fellowship Pippin Took (rhymes with Rook, a Rook on chess is a Tower which also starts with T like Minas Tirith) (coincidentally Scotty Pippin (basketball player of the chicago bulls #33) eliminates pippin, and the number six (2 times 3 == 6) and leaves Scotty, Scotch is another spirit) Merry Brandybuck (a Brandybuck from the river Brandywine, thus buck == wine, almost like Jaegermeister) Samwise Gamgee (what stands out about his character in movie is his dimwitted disciplined character and the scene about "cookin' coneys" aka rabbits, the word "Gah" in Navajo) (Also Sam 'dit' sounds like "samdis" (saturday) the day of saturn in french) (thus a replacing of 'dit' which means talk in french, with wise, conclusion to talk is wise, sam) Frodo Baggins (The name contains "gin" a spirit, much like in the name of Brandybuck also a whiskey) 4. Other interesting LOTR things Orc (is a tongue in cheek to mean the "oxford rugby club") elf (is a noble character in middle earth and attributed to be the first born of illuvatar, also an elf is what an orc would have been before death) 5. Weapons in LOTR Sting (an elven dagger, given to Frodo from Bilbo) Anduril (the sword narsil, reforged, it's significance is that it cut saurons finger off by Elendil in the first wars) Anduril has a relation to Merlin's Excalibur which King Arthur wields, Merlin has similarities to Radagast. Bow and Arrow (preferred weapon of legolas) Axe (preferred weapon of Gimli)
